Interceding Men · Prayer series

Dear
Lord.

We are men, but we need You.

Real struggles. Honest prayers. Men seeking God's strength for their lives, homes, and communities.

Pray · Support · Build

A ministry that brings real life before God.

Men are often told to provide, protect, lead, and stay strong. Dear Lord makes room to acknowledge the parts of life that are harder to say aloud: loneliness, pressure, temptation, regret, responsibility, and the need for help.

These are prayers to pray with, not slogans to perform. They are written with honesty, Scripture, and hope, while leaving room for wise counsel, accountability, professional care, and practical action.

01Dear Lord, help the man who feels he comes lastMarriage

Dear Lord, help men in marriages where they feel overlooked, unappreciated, or alone. When their needs feel unseen, give them wisdom to communicate honestly, courage to seek healing, and strength to remain honourable.

Do not let loneliness lead them toward choices that wound their marriage, family, or walk with You. Teach them to love without bitterness, speak without hostility, and seek restoration with truth and humility. Where a relationship is unsafe or coercive, lead them toward wise local support and protection. In Jesus' name, amen.

Ephesians 5:25 · James 1:5

02Dear Lord, help the father who is far from his childrenFatherhood

Dear Lord, remember fathers separated from their children by distance, conflict, circumstance, or broken relationships. Give them wisdom for difficult conversations, patience for slow repair, and consistency that shows their children they are loved.

Heal guilt and regret without allowing either to become an excuse for inaction. Help them make faithful choices today, even when they cannot change yesterday. Give caregivers, children, and fathers peace, safety, and wise support where relationships are strained. In Jesus' name, amen.

Ephesians 6:4 · Proverbs 20:7

03Dear Lord, strengthen men in their fight for sexual integrityIntegrity

Dear Lord, strengthen men facing battles few people see. When temptation comes, give them clarity to recognise it, courage to step away, and wisdom to build boundaries that protect their hearts, minds, homes, and relationships.

Where a man has fallen, lead him toward honest repentance, trustworthy accountability, and the help he needs rather than secrecy and despair. Guard him from shame that isolates and from confidence that ignores danger. In Jesus' name, amen.

1 Corinthians 10:13 · Job 31:1

04Dear Lord, heal the man carrying childhood woundsHealing

Dear Lord, see the men carrying wounds they never learned to name. Some grew up without fathers; others had fathers who were present yet absent in the ways that mattered. Heal rejection, abandonment, fear, and insecurity.

Help them find their identity in You, not in the pain that formed them. Raise wise, trustworthy brothers, mentors, counsellors, and spiritual fathers around them where support is needed. Let their past inform compassion without deciding the men they become. In Jesus' name, amen.

Psalm 68:5 · Psalm 147:3

05Dear Lord, help the man who feels he is not enoughGrace

Dear Lord, You see the man who smiles in public while carrying shame in private. He may feel he has failed his family, disappointed people he loves, or fallen short of his own expectations. Quiet the voice of condemnation.

Give him the humility to take responsibility where he has done wrong, seek forgiveness where it is needed, and accept appropriate consequences with hope. Remind him that failure need not become his identity. Restore courage for the next honest step. In Jesus' name, amen.

Romans 8:1 · 1 John 1:9

06Dear Lord, strengthen the man under pressure to provideProvision

Dear Lord, You know the pressure men carry when people depend on them. You see unanswered applications, financial obligations, long nights, and fear about not having enough. Open honest paths of opportunity.

Give wisdom in decisions, diligence in work, and courage when circumstances feel impossible. Protect men from desperation that leads to dishonesty, exploitation, or compromise. Remind them that their worth is greater than their income. In Jesus' name, amen.

Philippians 4:19 · Matthew 6:31–33

07Dear Lord, bring freedom to the man trapped in destructive habitsFreedom

Dear Lord, meet the man who feels trapped by anger, alcohol, drugs, sexual sin, or another habit that is harming him or the people around him. Break the lie that he must carry it alone.

Give him courage to tell the truth to a safe, trustworthy person and to seek qualified medical, recovery, pastoral, or professional help where it is needed. Protect those at risk of harm, and replace destructive patterns with patient steps toward freedom and repair. In Jesus' name, amen.

John 8:36 · Galatians 5:1 · 1 Corinthians 6:12

08Dear Lord, meet the man carrying loneliness and secret strugglesBrotherhood

Dear Lord, meet the man who feels alone even in a crowded room. He may carry questions, grief, doubt, temptation, or pain he has never said aloud. Draw him away from isolation and toward safe, mature, trustworthy brotherhood.

Give him discernment about whom to trust and courage to take one honest step into the light. Make us the kind of men who listen without gossip, correct without cruelty, and pray without pretending. In Jesus' name, amen.

Ecclesiastes 4:9–12 · James 5:16

09Dear Lord, teach the man who is learning to leadLeadership

Dear Lord, teach men to lead as servants, not as controllers. Give them courage to make wise decisions, humility to listen, and strength to protect without intimidation. Help them say yes to responsibility and no to pride.

Where they hold influence at home, work, church, or in the community, make their presence truthful, calm, and life-giving. Let their strength be marked by love, accountability, and service. In Jesus' name, amen.

Mark 10:42–45 · 1 Corinthians 16:13–14

10Dear Lord, give the man courage to say noWisdom

Dear Lord, give men courage to say no to what pulls them away from You. Help them recognise commitments, conversations, relationships, and habits that erode their peace, integrity, or responsibilities.

Give them wisdom to set clear boundaries without cruelty, to walk away from harmful pressure, and to ask for help before temptation becomes a crisis. Form self-control that is humble, consistent, and rooted in love. In Jesus' name, amen.

Proverbs 4:23 · Galatians 5:22–23

11Dear Lord, guide the man seeking purpose and directionPurpose

Dear Lord, guide the man who is unsure where his life is going. He may be looking for work, carrying responsibility, weighing a decision, or wondering whether what he has to offer matters.

Give him wisdom for the next faithful step rather than a false need to control every outcome. Help him work with integrity, steward what is already in his hands, and remain open to correction and opportunity. In Jesus' name, amen.

Proverbs 16:3 · Colossians 3:23 · Ephesians 2:10

12Dear Lord, make us men who pray for our homes and communitiesIntercession

Dear Lord, make us men who look beyond ourselves. We pray for homes under pressure, children who need care, churches that need humility, leaders who need wisdom, neighbours who need practical support, and communities longing for peace.

Show us where prayer must become service, generosity, protection, or a truthful conversation. Keep us from blaming people we have not tried to understand. Give us courage to stand in the gap with humility and do the good within our reach. In Jesus' name, amen.

1 Timothy 2:1–4 · Ezekiel 22:30 · Jeremiah 29:7

Keep returning

We are men, but we need You.
